In The Works: Vintage Sports Pennant Flags

I'd love to make these in some fun colors for my son's room.

I've been working hard these past couple of months creating all of the decorations and activities for my most recent baby shower project. I've had plenty of experience with baby showers at this point, considering this is my fifth one! This particular shower is for a family friend expecting a boy in January, and the theme she chose is "vintage sports". A challenging yet exciting theme to work with, the details are what really make these niche themes shine.

One vintage sports themed decoration that is simple to make yet sure to make your guests say "you made that?!", is the pennant flag. This added touch of an ode to the days of cracker jacks and leather helmets will set your shower apart from all the other store bought showers.

Typically adorned with an ornate team name and logo, this DIY version is simplified for a cleaner look and can be easily tailored to your vision. I chose short, sweet, and to the point phrases that kept baseball and football as the focus, while also highlighting the little slugger himself. Phrases such as, "Homerun", "Touchdown", "Allstar", and "#1!".
